RESTORE OUR REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT
As a New Mexico citizen and your constituent, I rely on our law enforcement officers to protect the public and enforce enacted laws.
With the constant attack through new firearm policies and lawful policing, New Mexicans have become even more dependent on law enforcement to run into harm’s way to ensure public safety. This has been true even with elected officials.
As a New Mexico citizen and your constituent, I rely on our law enforcement officers to protect the public and enforce enacted laws.
I believe that SB 227 renders our law enforcement incapacitated to lawfully discharge their sworn duties and endangers the lives of officers and the public at large through overburdensome restrictions.
In particular, Sect. 9 of SB227 creates dangerous situations for law enforcement and suspects during the execution of warrants, which will likely result in the additional loss of life.
With the constant attack through new firearm policies and lawful policing, New Mexicans have become even more dependent on law enforcement to run into harm's way to ensure public safety. This has been true even with elected officials.
Many provisions within SB227 and like legislation appears to illuminate law enforcement as enemies, leaving them defenseless, primarily liable and distrusted instead of treating our heroes as partners in public safety and prosperity.
I request that you vote no on SB227.
